Life triumphs over death

My life is preciousThis morning as New Zealand awoke to a new day, tens of thousands of pro-lifer’s marched along the streets of Washington DC to commemorate the 41st anniversary of the passing of Roe v Wade.

The March for Life is an annual event opposing the legislation that legalised the killing of unborn children in the US.  That legislation also opened the door for other countries to follow suite.

It is an event where all people come together in solidarity to speak up for those with no voice.  It is an event that acknowledges the pain that women who have had abortions experience.  It is an event that speaks of healing for those women and men.  It is an event that proclaims that human life, from the very moment of conception is precious, unrepeatable and worth protecting.

The secular media will largely ignore the March.  They do not want the world to see the groundswell of support for life-affirming legislation.  They do not want the message of truth to reach those who have not heard.

The importance of the March for Life worldwide is significant.  Roe v Wade, based on lie, has influenced States throughout the world as they have drafted their own abortion legislation.  America today, to a large extent, continues to inform both pro-life and pro-abortion debates all across the globe.

Pope Francis knows this significance.  He tweeted today:

I join the March for Life in Washington with my prayers.  May God help us respect all life, especially the most vulnerable.

For this pro-lifer on the other side of the world, being able to watch the March and participate via the internet, inspires me to keep up the fight for life.  The sight of so many thousands of people marching for truth, for love, for life, stirs such a passion.  One day I know that all human life, from the moment of conception until natural death will be held as sacred by all of society.   One day abortion will no longer plague our land.

Life ultimately triumphs over death.
